Level up your job skills with a S.M.A.R.T. Net Internship

S.M.A.R.T. Net offers a variety of internships for those who have the time, interest, and motivation to work outside the scope of our main volunteer program. These competitive, challenging, and highly-valued positions play a vital role in S.M.A.R.T. Net’s organizational health and come assist you in landing a IT Position.

Each internship lasts 3-6 months with an option to renew afterwards. Due to the nature of these volunteer activities, we ask that applicants be at least 16 years of age.

Why should I become a S.M.A.R.T. Net intern?

Our internships are designed to provide you with a competitive edge on the job market. While internships at S.M.A.R.T. Net are both unpaid and paid, there are many perks associated with volunteering your time as an intern. As an intern, you’ll receive:

  • Job skills training and professional feedback;
  • Letters of reference for your job search;
  • A free desktop computer or laptop after 24 hours of service;
  • Membership eligibility at the Kemba Credit Union

Ability to self-motivate and work effectively without direct supervision;
Ability to prioritize tasks and be flexible in a fast-paced work environment;
Comfort working alongside volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

How to Apply

Read the internship descriptions thoroughly and decide which position best matches your interests.
Attend a Volunteer Orientation Tour, held at 11am and 4pm on Tuesday-Saturday.
Submit an internship application using the volunteer ID number you received during the tour. Be sure to indicate which internship you’re interested in.


A S.M.A.R.T Net staff member will contact you within two weeks about your application. If you’re a good match for the position, we’ll schedule an on-site interview.
